Cross-threading at reassembly is the quickest way to ruin a nut like this, and a cracked nut or chewed thread can leave the joint seeping. Start the new nut by hand until it runs freely, then tighten it firmly without forcing it past snug.
The T50 tank sheet does not list this nut. Undoing the nut disturbs the Y-tee sealing ring, so fit a new one before reassembly, and inspect the Y-tee part for cracks while it is exposed.
