Order it when the original has been lost during a strip-down, has a damaged or corroded thread, or will no longer tighten properly. Fertiliser and chemical residue can corrode small fasteners, so inspect the buckle hardware whenever an arm is apart.
Match the code on the diagram rather than using a similar-looking nut from the parts bin, and check the latch locks firmly after reassembly. If the buckle itself is worn, the aircraft arm buckle module (callout 10), buckle torsion spring (callout 12) and 57.1 mm pin shaft (callout 13) are sold separately.
