Replace it if it is bent, pitted, scored or worn, or if the propeller assembly has developed play or feels rough when turned by hand. Check it after any strike. Note that it differs from the propeller clamp base shaft, YC.JG.QX004525, at callout 3.
The propeller clamp bearing (callout 6) is listed straight after it, so make sure the bearing turns smoothly while the assembly is apart, and look over the propeller clamp (callout 7) too.
