Disk speed largely decides how far material is thrown, so a tired motor can show up first as an uneven spread pattern. Other signs are rough running, grinding or a spreading-system warning in the app. If the disk grinds or catches when turned by hand with the power off, the motor or a bearing is the likely cause.
Fertiliser dust is corrosive, so clean the housing and look over the shaft seals before the new motor goes in. While the spinner disk cable is unplugged, check its connector for corrosion, and spin the 21 mm bearing by hand for roughness.
