If the clamp cracks or loses its grip, the cable can move with vibration, which may chafe the sheath or strain its connector. Replace a broken or loose clamp rather than holding the cable back with cable ties.
When fitting, follow the cable's original route and make sure it is not pinched under the clamp or pulled tight across an edge.
