Arm hardware carries flight loads and constant vibration, so a nut with damaged or cross-threaded threads, or one that has lost its grip on the thread, should be replaced rather than refitted. A spare is also handy for arm work in the paddock, where a dropped nut can be hard to find.
Inspect the arm fixing screw bolt at the same time; if either thread is marked, renew both so the pair engages cleanly.
