Contractor Kit: RePL + Type Rating + ReOC

The CASA licences a spray drone contractor needs, in one booking. Start with no licence and finish with a sub 25 kg RePL, a DJI Agras type rating and an aerial application ReOC, with one point of contact for the paperwork. Spraying for hire also needs your state's chemical licences, which are separate.

How long it takes. The RePL theory is online at your own pace, followed by face-to-face flight training and then the type rating flight test. The ReOC usually takes longest: CASA allows up to 70 business days to issue one, so we start on it alongside your RePL training. You cannot spray for hire until CASA has issued the ReOC and your state licences are in place.

State licences are separate. Applying chemicals is regulated by your state, and those licences come from your state regulator, not from this kit. In Victoria, for example, the pilot needs an RPA pilot chemical rating licence (RPA PCRL) and the business an RPA agricultural aircraft operator licence (RPA AAOL), which is issued on the strength of your ReOC; apply at least four weeks before you need to spray.
