Suspect this lead if the USB communication board stops responding while the generator otherwise runs normally, or if either connector is cracked, corroded or loose in its socket. Disconnect the starter battery before unplugging or refitting it, push both plugs fully home and route the cable away from hot or moving parts. While the back of the panel is open, check the control panel rear cover rubber sleeve and replace it if it has split or perished.
