Check the oil with the generator on level ground and the engine stopped. Replace the dipstick if the cap is cracked, the cap seal is perished or the level marks are worn away, as a loose or broken cap lets oil mist out and dust in. It is an easy part to lose or crack on a generator that moves around the farm. If the level keeps dropping with a good cap, check the oil seal and crankcase gasket for leaks. D14000iE units built with a Rato engine take different engine parts, so check the engine label before ordering.
