It does heavy work every charge, so inspect it often: look for a split outer sheath, heat discolouration or pitted pins at the battery plug, and a loose fit at either connector. Retire a cable showing any of these, since a poor joint at charging current runs hot. Stop the generator before inspecting or unplugging it, and keep the lead clear of the exhaust. While it is out, check the nearby Power Plug Fixing Block for cracks.
